The engine

There is a while I had to put here info about the Lampredi TC...


In fact nothing really new for those of you looking to Guy Croft' site or GC' book and aware about preparation of engine.
The engine is thus a FIAT 130TC because the head. It comes with 43.5 mm diameter intake valves and the camshaft lift is 10mm. The timing is "modest" 7/51-51/8 giving 238° of opening. Precision (on 8 of June 2012): But that at 0.8mm of lash. In fact with 0.4/0.45mm of lash you get about 276° of opening...

Giving a static CR=10.7:1 (I found again my figures and calculation)
Measured by burreting and taking into account the Spesso head gasket thickness.
Mahle Mondial ref 3268. Certainly no more available.














Intake cambox drains
The intake cambox modified in order to obtain drain for oil because the FIAT engine is not tilted so you have to take care of that. For the exhaust side I cannot add material but the oil level is correct, the camshaft bathes in oil.

Both drawings show the difference of oil drain between FIAT and Lancia (w/o tilt and w/ 20° tilt)

The head is prepared as GC recommendation's. Bronze/brass guides from GC. Valves machined by GC.

The rest is the chapter concerning the intake mods I made.
I don't think there is other thing interesting to add. Only classical mounting following GC advices.

The power is in the head
The flywheel is 5.6kg the previous one was about 2.5 kg more. Reducing this weight is equivalent to lose "static" weight. The equivalent weight is about 145kg in first gear, 54kg in 2nd, 26kg in 3rd, 16kg in 4rth and 11kg in 5th gear. It participates to better acceleration.

Torque and power of the engine/Couple et puissance du moteur

I was quite surprised to see the figures at the end of the trial. I expected about 145hp based on the former figures I got on dyno. The mods of the intake seem very fruitful.

J'étais plutôt surpris de voir ces chiffres à la sortie de l'essai. J'espérais environ 145 ch en me basant sur le premier essai sur frein. Les modifs de l'admission semblent porter leur fruit.
